Under the project “Communities Waging Peace through Youth and Mothers Peace groups”, a two days orientation session was conducted at PAIMAN House Islamabad for Media representatives. 22 media officials from electronic and print media participated in this orientation session. Ms. Bushra Hyder and Mr. Muhammad Shakoor jointly started the session and highlighted the core values of the project. The main objective was to bring the media on board to address the issues of violent extremism in the targeted areas and recognize the role of youth and women in post conflict planning, concept of community policing, re-constriction and rehabilitation in building of social cohesion. Ms. Bushra discussed that how the media can collaborate with PAIMAN to address the issue of violent extremism. The participants enthusiastically participated in the session and shared their views and experiences and also appreciated PAIMAN’s initiatives towards peace building in KP/FATA.
