International Volunteers Day was celebrated on December 05, 2018 at Rawal Lake Islamabad as a part of Pakistan Youth Initiative -2 by the community youth facilitators and the representatives from PAIMAN and SPO.
A walk was organized on the main walkway of the park with placards in hands depicting the importance of Volunteerism on various themes e.g. Cleanliness Drive, Water Conservation, Road Safety Measures and so on.
CYFs in four groups each comprising 8 to 9 members scattered all over the park and engaged in volunteering work covering the given themes; e.g. picking and disposing off the litter, addressing visitors on the depleting water reserves its conservation, and advising them yon proper road safety measures.
The visitors were also encouraged to respond on this occasion. Their response was overwhelming as they appreciated this endeavor by the CYFs and the organizations namely; VSO, UKaid, SPO and PAIMAN celebrating the International Volunteers Day under the banner of the project Pakistan Youth Initiative -2.
