Under the project “Communities Waging Peace through Youth and Mothers Peace Groups”, District forums were conducted at Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda and Khyber Agency. Hundreds of TOLANA members along with trained NGOs/CBOs members, Police Officials, local influentials and government officers/officials participated in these forums. The main objective of the forum was to develop a common understanding among the participants about the importance of peace, social cohesion and role of women in pace building. Mr. Shafqat Mehmood (Chairman PAIMAN Alumni Trust) briefly discussed the role of TOLANA and women in peace building processes. Moreover, District Implementation Committees (DIC) were established with mutual consensus of all TOLANA members and others participants on this occasion so as to play their vital role in peace building at district level in coordination with district police, local department and other agencies so that EWER mechanism may be developed for smooth peace building processes.
